The emergence of social media brings along many benefits for global netizens. It connects people, creating a seamless information flow regardless of space and time. But the popularity and the ease of engagement of social media also abet the spread misinformation and escalate crises at an uncontrollable rate. Prevention is better than cure. It’s best if brands can get familiar to this platform and learn how to utilize it in a crisis, rather than avoiding it.
